Chorley Town Centre Public Realm

Our landscape architects have worked up proposals to improve a number of public realm sites within Chorley Town Centre for the local authority.

Sites have included: an area adjacent to the bus station providing improved pedestrian movement and visual aesthetic; a footpath linking the main high street with Chorley Little Theatre with enhanced lighting, improved surfacing and artwork; a pedestrianised street linking the main high street with the covered market with improved paving and space for the provision of temporary market stalls; an underpass at Chorley railway station leading to a shopping area proving improved surfacing, lighting and artwork panels depicting local trades past and present.

Paving and street furniture options have been chosen to compliment new schemes that have recently been implemented in the town centre and suggested artwork creates a unique sense of place.

"I have found the professionalism and friendliness of Newground to be second to none. Their product knowledge, design skills and turnaround of work are excellent. They are very good where consultation with external stakeholders is required, building up a rapport which subsequently aids project delivery," Conrad Heald, Chorley Borough Council.
