Community Programmes Director

Location : Blackburn or Halifax

Salary: £51,175 p/annum

Benefits: 27 days holiday +8 bank holidays. Contributory pension scheme. Health care package. Essential car user allowance.

We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to further their career within a successful social enterprise.

We are currently looking for an innovative and inspiring individual to lead our teams delivering a diverse range of community programmes, tackling issues such as youth engagement, unemployment, deprivation, health & wellbeing, training and environmental education. The postholder will report directly to the Newground Managing Director and be a member of the Newground CIC Board and Senior Management Team.  

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:  

  • Develop and oversee the delivery of the community programmes business plan, ensuring appropriate performance standards and targets are met;
  • Engage with stakeholders to seek out new opportunities and develop innovative projects and services which meet stakeholder needs;
  • Operate within the framework of a quality management system;
  • Provide focus and clear direction to your teams.  

Your current experience should consist of:  

  • Experience of managing and developing projects to improve community resilience;
  • Knowledge and understanding of community resilience;
  • Experience of managing significant budgets with an understanding of funding processes;
  • Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to produce clear and concise written reports;
  • Experience of managing and motivating staff, inspiring a culture which reflects our vision and values;
  • A quality driven approach.  

A full driving licence is required with access to a car, as travel across the North of England is an essential part of the role.
