"Newground provided us with essential support as we came towards our grant deadline and helped to generate new applications and provide the one to one support that many householders required in order to submit an application. Many of our householders and businesses had suffered greatly in the floods and couldn’t face going through the grant process but with the help of Newground we were able to secure a high level of applications for the resilience grant to ensure that as many householders as possible were able to make their properties more resilient for the future."
Ribble Valley Borough Council
Assistance from Newground: Newground, on behalf of the Environment Agency and Ribble Valley Council undertook community engagement work in Whalley to target the worst affected areas and those with low levels of grant uptake. As well as offering impartial advice and support around the flood resilience grant, the flood engagement team encouraged residents to sign up to the Environment Agency flood warnings service to help people be more prepared.
